A lot of digital cameras are supplied with their own battery and charging unit. Once the battery is fully charged make sure to unplug the charger from the wall socket. If the camera does not have a charger supplied use rechargeable batteries. Consider the quality of the pictures needed as a lower pixel rating may use less power and the battery will last longer.
