Venting dryers are more efficient as they do not collect the steam to convert back into water. The steam is vented outside either by placing the machine next to an outside wall and plumbing in an outlet pipe or by using a hose to hang out of a window. Try to limit the use of a tumble dryer and use a washing machine which has a high spin cycle to extract as much moisture from clothes as possible.
